Dear Blissfield Place Staff:
We want to thank each of you for the special care you gave our mom, Marilyn Ruble. Your job is not easy, but it is extremely important – helping the elderly keep their dignity and joy of living as long as possible on their last journey of life. And also giving families, peace of mind and the ability to be sons and daughters again, and not caregivers.
We saw first-hand how you maintained a safe environment for her, but still give her autonomy to move about the facility inside and out. How each of you maintained a positive attitude, even when faced with her anxiety and dementia. How you cared for her with love and respect, and indulged her with treats whenever and no matter how often she asked. How you encouraged her to participate in activities and when she refused, how you spent extra time with her to just chat. How you shared in her joy when she went to the lake and fixed her a sack lunch to take along with an encouraging message or a happy face on it. How you gently teased to get a smile from her. How you tried different foods to get her to eat. How you helped her maintain her personal hygiene, even when she was uncooperative. How you calmly administered to her when she declined and helped us to understand what she was going through. How you were always available to speak with any of us about her care or what was going on in her day. And the kindness that you showed Mom and us every day.

We were so lucky to have each of you involved in Mom’s care. You can tell that this is just not a job for you, but that you truly care for each resident and want to help them have the best life possible. We hope you never forget that Blissfield Place is special because of who you are and what you bring to your job.

We truly appreciate everything you did for Mom and for us. Although the ending is sad, we know that Mom’s journey was peaceful due to your care. And that make us extremely grateful. Our best to you always.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU for your staff at Blissfield Place in Blissfield, MI. (The Administrator) and ALL of her staff are the best of the best. It is very important to run a business efficiently and effectively. This facility does all this and everyone follows the lead of the administrators and the support staff. Your caretakers are the most loving and caring group of staff – I have ever seen. In these trying times, you and your people reacted quickly facing this pandemic. I am very grateful. My mother has only been there since October of 2019. My only regret is that I did not put my mother in this HOME six years ago. Blissfield Place should be a role model for all your facilities. All the staff are the best of the best.

The facility and its location is beautiful. The staff is wonderful and caring. There are plenty of activities. The meals and most desserts are home cooked. my mother didn’t want to be in assisted living but she loved and appreciated the care she received and we all get like part of a big family there.

Blissfield Place is a very clean, nicely decorated home for senior citizens. The staff genuinely care and cooperate with the residents and their families, not mention the kind reception they give their visitors! There are weekly activities for all the residents, as well as religious services on Sundays. There is an in-house salon for hairdressing and makeup, which the lady residents enjoy. There are handrails, wide halls, beautiful, tidy rooms, and lots of free space to move around. My favorite room is the sunroom, where you can sit on puffy couches to watch the sunset. I enjoy being there and I’m not very elderly, or even a resident! It feels like home, because there’s quality care!
