Administrator

Derrick Oakes brings over a decade of diverse experience in healthcare administration and human resources to his role. He has served as an administrator at a Federally Qualified Health Center for five years and has six years of HR leadership experience spanning government, healthcare, biomedical research, and manufacturing. Derrick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Central State University, a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from Baker College of Flint, and a certification in Long-Term Care from Ferris State University. His passion for serving seniors began in high school, when he worked in the kitchen of an assisted living facility. That early experience sparked a lifelong commitment to ensuring that residents receive the highest quality of care with dignity and compassion. Derrick believes in leading with integrity, empathy, and a resident-first mindset, and he finds joy in making a positive impact on those he serves. Beyond his professional life, Derrick has been a dedicated alto saxophone player for over 20 years and serves as a minister at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church. He cherishes time with his family, especially his two sons, Jrae Evans and Derrick III, and strives to live out his values both at work and in his community.
