After 3 1/2 years (3.25 in Bldg 2 and 3 months in Bldg 3) my dad’s stay at Fountain View has ended. Although he was angry about losing his independence, he was thankful for a private room with enough space for sleeping and sitting areas. The view of the pond from his window was great, but he loved to be outside watching the fish jump for food or enjoying the quiet of the covered patio. Bingo in the dining room was one of his favorite activities. The musical events, live performances and sing-alongs were highlights for him. He even attended a few worship services. Despite the way dementia robbed him of his desire to socialize, he found friends among the staff and residents. Even when he was being grumpy, he was given smiles and treated with warmth and respect. Fountain View is a clean, safe, healthy place to live. The staff are compassionate and patient. Administration is accessible and helpful. Communication is timely and complete. The focus is on the resident and providing them a healthy, dignified and caring environment.
Thanks for taking such good care of Dad.
My mom has been a resident there for 5 1/2 years. she just loves living there. she has alzheimes/dementia has been recently moved to the building that stays locked. our family is SO impressed with the management, staff, and loving care she has received. she is 99 years old and her health mentally and physically is declining and she is receiving the care above and beyond.. we and her doctor have been kept very well informed on her mental and physical health. we are so very thankful for this facility and staff. we know that she is in good hands and are at peace knowing that she is very well taken care of. we would very highly recommend it to anyone and their family.
From a daughter’s perspective: The (Administrator) and the (Director of Resident Life) were supportive from the start. They were always available if I had concerns. The Caregivers were respectful and kind. Many of them learned Dad’s habits and symptoms and could tell when he was sick even if he couldn’t explain it to them. I appreciated their discernment and observations. Communication was important to me and it was available whenever I needed it. Special people work at Fountain View. They have big hearts and genuine concern for their residents. Kudos to the chefs for creating meals that allowed even a picky eater to gain a few pounds.
The building has been around awhile, but it is well-kept and accessible. The rooms are spacious and many have a view of the pond and fountain. My mom, sister, niece and I have all worked in elder care facilities and FV is near the top of the list for cleanliness.
The focus at FV is on the resident. I can’t say enough about the respect, compassion and attention my dad was given. He was often grumpy and uncooperative, but they were able to address his health and hygiene needs; engage hm in conversation and occasional activities and coax him to get up for meals, enjoy the outdoors or a TV show. He kept declining and they kept trying to maintain his best quality of life.
Thank you to everyone at FV for your patience, optimism, senses of humor, for doing all those thankless daily care tasks and for answering my endless requests for updates. You made a difference in Marvin’s life (and mine) everyday.
I have visited Fountain View many times and have consistently found that it is a pleasant and welcoming place. It is clean and the meals are good. The staff is always courteous and you can tell that they really care.
Fountain View is a great place to work with a very good working environment! The administrative team is hard working and very caring towards residents and staff. It is amazing to work with all of the wonderful residents and make Fountain View their home.
Fountain View has staff that care deeply for their residents. They have different community events to have the community and the residents interact. I have gone to a few of these events and seen the staff treat their residents very well. The residents are smiling, happy, and laughing.
I have worked here for 9 years and I love my job! I will never say it is an easy job because it isn’t, however I can say that it has been very rewarding, fun and comforting to know that our elderly community members are given such compassionate, heartfelt care!
