The Lifetime Promise

As part of its mission, Baruch Senior Ministries developed “The Lifetime Promise”, a program designed to help qualified residents remain in the community they call home even if financial circumstances change. This confidential program provides reduced monthly rates based on individual income and ensures that residents continue receiving the same level of care and services even in cases of financial hardship.

Five seniors are in a common room; two sit at a table with drinks and fruit, one knits, one reads, and a caregiver assists a man with a walker in the background.
A caregiver assists an elderly woman with a bead maze activity at a care facility, while other seniors sit at a nearby table.

How The Lifetime Promise Supports Residents

Understanding How the Program Works

The Lifetime Promise reflects Baruch’s commitment to serving residents with integrity and long-term support. To ensure the program supports residents with genuine financial need, several guidelines help determine eligibility.

Key elements include:

  • Residents must have lived in a Baruch community for at least 24 months
  • Residents must apply for and be determined eligible for Medicaid through the Michigan Department of Human Services
  • Residents must apply to the Michigan Waiver program
  • Income documentation is reviewed annually
  • Residents placed on The Lifetime Promise remain in the same home and receive the same level of care
  • A limited number of residences within each community may participate in the program at the same time
