Fountain View of Fremont’s Administrator, Shelley McDonald, had a dream of installing a fountain to represent Fountain View. This would give the residents a place to sit, relax, and enjoy the peaceful sound of flowing water.

In June 2022, the Fountain View team came together and participated in the Baruch Senior Ministries Annual Wing-a-Thon fundraiser with hopes to make Shelley’s dream come true. Together, they ate 469 chicken wings within one hour to raise funds for this project.

Their ambition and the generosity of donors turned their dream into a reality. That same month, the ground was broken and the hole was dug for Fountain View of Fremont’s brand new koi pond! Maintenance Director, David McDonald, and Life Enrichment Director, Jeff Wellman went to work creating the new little oasis for residents. They dug the hole, laid the pond liner, placed the rocks, and formed the waterfall and fountain features. The koi pond included the placement of Koi and goldfish.

Who would have thought that eating 469 of chicken wings could make a dream come true? Thank you Fountain View team, for your hard work, patience, and dedication to your residents!
